EXCITER

VIOLENCE AND FORCE

1984

REVIEW BY BLAKE

Review:

The release from Canadian 3 piece speed metallers EXCITER. This by most EXCITER fans is held up as the best one of them all. Featuring John Ricci (guitar), Allan Johnson (bass) and Dan Beehler (drums, vocals) They recorded this album in about 2 weeks and even though the band might of been happy they rushed it the fans didn't seem to care eating up the violent nature of the writing and the songs in itself. Title track being a true EXCITER anthem and of course the pure Metal anthem in POUNDING METAL that really says it all about this album. Just a straight ahead pounding metal type of album. Featuring possibly the only or one of the very few Metal bands to have the lead vocalist being the drummer in Dan Beehler. With other song tiTles like WAR IS HELL, SCREAM IN THE NIGHT and SWORDS OF DARKNESS how could any metal fan in the early 80's not eat that up even before hearing the raw power and metal mayhem on the disc. This is a true metal classic for its time.
