CRADLE OF FILTH

THORNOGRAPHY

2006

REVIEWED BY BLAKE

Review: This is definitely the most accessible and METAL release from Cradle of Filth. I am sure lots of die hard COF fans or black metal fans will say sell out even though it seems like thats been happening to them since they first gained more of a following. During first listen I was blown away by the changes they have made even though I have liked COF since I heard MIDIAN, but this is after first listen, my favourite Cradle release. It still has all the normal COF qualities like dark lyrics, Dani's singing doesn't change, but more melodic parts, more heavy guitar riffs and guitar solos. You can even say more commerical but I doubt your gonna be hearing any of this on your favourite alternative station. There is 4, 7 minute songs including the first ever COF instrumental which comes across very good. Ville Vallo from HIM appears on the track Byronic Man, and first single Tempatation which is a remake of the Heaven 17 version with great female vocals by Dirty Harry which really adds to the song and makes it the most commercial song. I can not find a song on here I don't like and have to skip. This could be my fav of 2006. Picking my fav cuts is pretty hard with this one.

FAV CUTS:

Temptation, Dirge Inferno, The Foetus of a New Day Kicking
