THE MAGNIFICENT

There are two groups of people that will love the new album from The Magnificent featuring “Mikey” aka Michael Erikson of Circus Maximus. People who are anxiously awaiting a new album from Circus Maximus and fans of 80’s wuss rock such as Journey, Reo Speedwagon, and Styx.

As with everything he does, Michael Erikson’s voice is amazing and fits well with this style of music. The songs are well-crafted 80’s fluff dealing with love and loss, killer hooks and melodies, and great gutar solos. With song titles like “Holding On To Your Love”, “Cheated By Love”, and “Love’s On The Line”, you kind of know what you’re going to get before you press play! That’s not a knock on the album at all, just the truth! This album makes me long for the days where Journey was the king of the radio and the only thing I cared about was girls with short skirts and teased up hair! If you’re looking for “prog” or “metal” look elsewhere. For all of you that grew up in the 80’s, and for those that love the music of that era, The Magnificent is the band for you!
