Our music,our Blood,our Passion has never been stronger or more popular
than it is right now.The cyber age has been revolutionary for all of us
who
listen to or play Heavy Metal.
With the influence of mediums like My Space, Youtube and internet radio
our music has found us in ways never thought possible before.Gone are
the frustrations
over local radio not playing anything with "Balls",we dont need those
radio stations and
actually we never really did.
Throughtout the years Metal has survived without all the mainstream Pop
Bullshit
that keeps choking our airwaves and poisoning our minds.True Heavy
Metal never dies,
it keeps re-inventing itself or just goes underground for a while.It
lives,breathes
and grows with the only source of food needed......the fans.Our music
truly lives and dies
through us.No other music on the planet can say that.Imagine Ashley
Simpson or any
of the other thousands of brain dead bobble headed industry clones with
out their precious
top 40 Shit radio or the embarrassment that has become MTV? They would
all be slinging french fries
from a fast food place right now.
We stand alone my friends and that is just the way we all like it.They
call us "Devil Worshipers",
"Criminals", "Degenerates","Drug Addicts" and most insulting of all to
me......"Dumb"! I have been a Metal fan
since
I was 13 years old and have been hearing the same old shit ever since
then.As sad as this statement is,
I have learned more about
life,history,religion and current events from listening to Metal than I
ever did in school.
Our music has some of the most gifted musicians,vocalists and writers
on the entire planet and they are
a constant inspiration for millions of young people just starting out
playing music.Ironic but I have never met
anyone in a Metal band that I thought was "Dumb".
No other music gives so much to it's fans.No matter what kind of mood I
am in or how bad my day was,
all I have to do is pop in my favorite CD and it is like a magic button
was swtiched on.The loudness,aggression
and sheer power of our music takes me to another place and helps me to
deal with the "Assholes"
of the world a little easier.If listening to Slayer in my truck on the
way to work keeps me from having visions
of my boss hanging from a rope and me laughing hysterically,than I call
that very therapeutic my friends.
Taking it to another level is getting to see our performers live.You
sweat,you scream
you pound your fist in the air and for a few hours you connect with
your heroes and through the music....
become one in the same.By the end of the show you are so exhausted and
at peace,maybe you
forget how your old man beat the Hell out of you earlier in the week,or
that your girlfriend cheated on you
or that your job sucks,maybe for a few precious hours you actually feel
happy.
There is a whole new breed of musicians and fans out there that have
never experienced a Black Sabbath
or Judas Priest show and it is up to us old farts to educate them and
show them that there would be no
"Avenged Sevenfold" if Iron Maiden had not paved the way for them.
We are all a family,be it "Thrash","Death","Industrial","Symphonic" or
"Old School",whatever you want to
call it,we are all brothers and sisters and it is "Us" against them my
Evil siblings......and that is just the way
we want it.
Yes,indeed the "Times have changed",we have arrived and we aren't
FUCKING going anywhere!!!!!
