THE METAL PIT:  Why do you listen to Heavy Metal?

My mom is a metalhead and played metal all of the time. She was also the epitome of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Luckily for me I prefer the rock and roll lifestyle. (Sex too) I love the heaviness, just the way it portrays itself as "hey, I'm a genre of music, with stiff balls."

THE METAL PIT:
What was your first metal concert?   Skid Row, Vince Neil, and Tesla at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida in 2002 I think.

THE METAL PIT:  Your top 5 Metal bands?

Queensryche
Arcturus
Omniscient
Dream Theater
Dimmu Borgir

THE METAL PIT: What band or moment in your life got you into listening to metal?
There was once a period of my life where I wasn't listening to metal at all. Just classical, jazz, and disco hits. (Oh hell yes, I love disco) I remember when the first Fozzy album came out and I was a huge Chris Y2J Jericho fan from the WWE. It was mostly metal covers and it opened me up again to metal.

THE METAL PIT:  What is the best thing about going to a metal concert?
Interacting with the band and fans. I also enjoy taking pictures of the band whenever possible. Worst thing would be the mosh pits.

THE METAL PIT:

If you can only pick one what is your favorite metal album of all time?

Oh man...I guess Office of Strategic Influence's self-titled album from 2003.

THE METAL PIT:  Outside of Heavy Metal what is most important in your life?
Jesus, loved ones, friends, and doing things right. (Kids, don't do drugs. Mmmmm k?"

THE METAL PIT:  What is the best club/arena that you have seen a metal concert at?

The Millennium Center in Winston-Salem, NC and gotta love Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC.

THE METAL PIT:   What is your favorite metal concert you have seen?
Queensryche in September of 2007 in Winston-Salem, NC. Queensryche never seem to fail when it comes to putting on a fantastic show.

THE METAL PIT:     Which metal band from the past do you wish could or
would regroup to do a tour?

Rainbow with Ronnie James Dio, doing the entire Rising album tour and hope to God they come somewhere near North or South Carolina.

THE METAL PIT:  What do you think of females in metal music, whether its females in metal bands or just female metal fans?

It's a popular trend that's growing at a rapid rate. Only problem I have with females in metal bands is:

1. Takes attention away from the other band members.

2. Band only gets attention if the front woman is "hot."

There are some fantastic female fronted bands out there like After Forever, Epica, Within Temptation, and Aghora. There are also some horrible ones like Otep, Arch Enemy (though musically they are awesome), The Gathering, and High Priced baby's daddy something or other.

THE METAL PIT:
What does it mean to be a Metal Maiden of the Month?
A chance to voice my views on REAL metal. Bands like Lamb of god, Otep, Slipknot, and other posers are for shit. This also could be a possibility to meeting new people, or just filling up my Myspace inbox of "OMG UR HAWT LULZ I LURVES j00!"

THE METAL PIT: Thanks for being the Metal Maiden of the month.. Any closing thoughts to the viewers of THE METAL PIT?
Download, listen, go to shows, and buy their merchandise. Labels are soul suckers for bands. Also, support local bands, for which I would like to give a "holla" to my favorite locals: Omniscient, Merzah, Jonin, Dreamscapes of the Perverse, Blatant Disarray, Cresent, Twisted Tower Dire, and others. Do check them out, you won't be disappointed.
