Metal Pit:                    Hello and welcome to the Metal Pit, Jazindra and Genieva Martini.....

Martini Twins:        Hey, we're glad to be here (they answer in stereo)

Metal Pit:    So...how in the world did two semi normal twin girls from Arizona ever decide to get into the crazy world of Heavy Metal?

Genieva:   It all started with Iron Maiden.

Jaz:        Normal, who said anything about normal?..........(long pause) Yeah, we saw Iron Maiden on TV and just knew it was what we were born to do.

Metal Pit:     What made you decide to make the move from Arizona to Hollywood?

Jaz:     Let's face it, Sunset Blvd used to be the freakin capital of Metal. I mean David Lee Roth and Axl rose made history there and because of the Guitar Institute and all the musicians, we hoped we would find the next Yngwie or Randy for our band. Little did we know, we'd have to look a little bit farther.

Genieva:  Yeah, just a litle bit. Plus, we always had stars in our eyes and what better place to become a star than Hollywood.

Metal Pit:     How was the Metal scene in Arizona compared to Hollywood?

Jaz:     What Metal scene? You've got to remember, we were from this little shit kicker town and there was no metal scene, unless you count the big stereo and mosh pit at the Keger in the middle of the desert right next to B.F.E. Whoa, that was a lot of words.
Genieva:   Yeah. There weren't many musicians willing to leave their normal lives behind and take it to the next level. We had a full band in AZ, but they all wimped out when it came to go time.

Metal Pit:     On your Myspace page you have a vid of the two of you singing Karaoke to a Children of bodom tune and I must admit, your voices sounded pretty good.Have you both been singing since you were young?

Genieva:     People always told us we were natural born singers. Ever since I can remember, we've always been singing. When you live in a small town, you've got to do what you can to entertain each other.

Jaz:         After listening to Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford, we knew we had to get that heavy metal scream just right, I wanted to be on their level, so we studied classical voice with many different instructors for years.

Metal Pit:    Are there any other videos of you out there so potential fans can hear more of your music?

Jaz:        Yeah, just go to our YouTube channel, which is www.youtube.com/TheMartiniTwins
You can also go to our Myspace which is www.Myspace.com/MartiniTwins

Genieva:     Our plan for the new year is to really put ourselves out there which is why we're in the process of finishing some new material for our fans and we've got some real exciting stuff that hasn't been done before.

Metal Pit:   Have you been involved with other bands in the past or is this going to be your first?

Jaz:          I can't tell you how many different musicians and bands we've worked with. There's too many to count. I think we've had more lead guitarists than Ozzy and Dave Mustaine put together.

Genieva:   Yeah. Whoa, we spent many hours in the rehearsal studio auditioning musicians for our band. You think dating's hard, try finding five guys that like the same kind of metal. Haha.

Metal Pit:    Have the both of you always wanted to play professionally?

Jaz:           Oh yeah. It has been all we've ever wanted to do. When our friends were trying to figure out what they were gonna study in College, we already knew. Metal has always been the ultimate goal. Even though our family thinks it's the equivalent of joining the circus or Satan and his minions, we never did change our minds.

Genieva:    Some people dream about white picket fences and we dream about a sea of long haired metal fans flying the horns at us.

Metal Pit:    Why do you listen to Heavy Metal?

Genieva:    Because we love it! Why do guys like football.

Jaz:        Yeah, or why do serial killers kill. We just can't get enough. Metal that is, not killing, that would be a totally different interview. HaHa. I know our family would love to know what happened so early on to make us this way.

Metal Pit:   You both sing and play instruments as well. What instruments do you play and who writes the lyrics?

Jaz:        We both play a little bit of guitar and keys and I've written most of the lyrics for our new material.

Genieva:   We consider our main instrument to be our voices, that's what we've spent most of our time and energy on.

Metal Pit:    Tell us about the new band you are involved in?

Genieva:     You mean Exsecratus. Well this is kind of an exclusive for you guys, because we haven't made anything official yet.

Jaz:           We are actually traveling all the way to Helsinki to meet with Exsecratus to see if we can make this happen. We've been talking to them for a while now and both parties agree that a Finnish metal band with twin lead vocals would be something truly amazing.

Genieva:    We're really excited meet Exsecratus and hopefully get into the studio with them.

Jaz:          Yeah, cause man do the Finnish put out awesome metal.  There must be something in the water over there. They rule!

Metal Pit:   What band or moment got you into metal music?

Jaz:         Like we said before, Iron Maiden. But were also really inspired by Megadeth.

Metal Pit:    What are you favorite Metal cds of all time?

Jaz:         Oh my god that's almost impossible to answer.

Genieva:   That's like asking a mom to pick her favourite child. Haha.

Jaz:           I can say this for sure, it's definitely got to include Iron Maiden's Powerslave,

Genieva:   Metallica's Master of Puppets, Slayer's Reign in Blood, Pantera's Cowboys From Hell.

Jaz:        Megadeth's Rust in Piece,  C.O.B.'s Hatebreeder. We could go on all day. Oh, and how about Anthrax's Spreading the Disease.

Metal Pit:    If someone criticizes Metal or you for listening to Metal what do you have to say in response?

Jaz:        It's like a religion to me, so nothing, because if they don't like metal I don't want to waste my time talking to them.
Genieva:  Wow, I would take that personally, because heavy metal is so much a part of who we are, that would mean they don't like us.

Metal Pit:    Pick 3 bands that would make for your ultimate Metal concert?

Genieva:      Iron Maiden...
Jaz:           ... with Children of Bodom, and Megadeth. Yeah!

Metal Pit:     What was your first metal concert?

Jaz:

 Iron Maiden and Anthrax.

Genieva:                       Scorpions

Metal Pit: What is the best band you have seen live?

Genieva:   I really like Nightwish at the House of Blues, they were awe inspiring.

Jaz:        Children of Bodom at the Wiltern 2008, mindblowing and freakin flawless.

Metal Pit: How do you feel or what is it like for you when you go to a metal concert?

Jaz:           It's like sex, a rollercoaster, and, no wait sex on a rollercoaster, while eating your favourite pizza. Whoa, did I just say that out loud? .........But seriously, it's the only time I feel alive. I feel like I could rule the world.

Genieva:   An indescribable feeling that I can't begin to put into words, but it's definitely at the top of the list of my fave activities.

Metal Pit:  What Metal band from the past do you wish could reform for one more tour?

Genieva:   This is going to sound cliché, but Axl with Slash at his side would have been amazing.

Jaz:        I wish I could bring back the dead. I'd give anything to see Cliff Burton live with Metallica or Randy live with Ozzy.

Metal Pit:    What are your thoughts of females in metal bands or just female metal fans in general?

Genieva:   I do wish there were more females in the business and to the ones that came before I us, I give much respect.

Jaz:         I think they're awesome. Let's face it, we don't listen to metal so we can be most popular, or fit in with everyone else, we listen to it because the music speaks to us and makes us feel a way that no other music does. I think that's whay metal fans are the greatest fans in the world, guys or girls.

Metal Pit:    What is the best venue/arena you've been at for a Metal show:

Genieva:    The House of Blues in Hollywood is amazing because you get a more personal experience.

Jaz:        I liked the Celebrity Theater. I saw Iron Maiden there and Steve Harris gave me his armband when I was on the rail there. It really stuck out in my mind, because there were only about 5,000 of us and there wasn't a bad seat in the house.

Metal Pit:  I hear you are working on a Reality show for TV and also a swimsuit calender, can you tell us more about this?

Genieva:   Right now our main focus is Finland and Exsecratus.

Jaz:        Yeah, those other things definitely still  in the works, and we'll update everybody on our websites, but right now, the music's gotta come first.

Metal Pit: What does it mean to be Metal Maiden of the Month?

Genieva:    It's a true honor, we are so happy about this, thank you so much for asking us to do this.

Jaz:       Yeah, what can I say, it's amazing. We love the Metal Pit and considering all the great chicks you've had on here before us we're totally honored. Thanks Nick, you rock!

Metal Pit: On behalf of the Metal Pit we want to thank you ladies for your time today and we look forward to hearing the new cd.

Martini Twins:  (In Stereo one more time) Yeah, happy new year!
