Welcome to the METAL PIT'S METAL MAIDEN OF THE MONTH section. This is
where we will feature each month a Metal Maiden that is either a fan of
METAL or in a METAL band. We will find out how they got into METAL and
why they are METAL fans. For previous Metal Maiden's of the Month see

THE
METAL PIT: Why do you listen to Heavy Metal? Metal makes me whole. It grabs me and takes me to places where I can
shout at the world mad as hell, or tear up with a breathtaking solo
that touches me deep inside. I like the ride and it always keeps me
going, we connect, metal and I.
THE METAL PIT: What was your first metal concert? My first Metal concert was Megadeth at a small bar in Cleveland. I
snuck into the show and I remember it being super hot and I got moshed
for the first time and was slammed to the floor. The crowd was small
but really crazy and I got separated from my friends and had to walk
home a few miles as I was really young and no where near close to
having a license. I remember how much people were into it and that I
really liked that atmosphere.
THE METAL PIT: Your top 5 Metal bands?
Metallica
Black Sabbath (especially with Dio!!)
Iron Maiden
Doro
Slayer
THE METAL PIT: What is the best thing about going to a metal concert?
The vibe and the anticipation of seeing people who you love playing
music that touches you and maybe getting the chance to see something
live that doesn’t happen often. Like a cool guest musician or a song
played that you never thought would ever be played live, or some crazy
fuck up that is talked about forever!
It also kicks ass to hang
out with friends and just experience Metal! Plus the cold beer is a
bonus! And if you get to go to a European Metal concert and camp out,
well damn, that is what metal dreams are all about……..
THE METAL PIT: What band or moment in your life got you into listening to metal?
AC/DC when I was in 4th grade. My sisters used to listen to them and I
remember running around like crazy and feeling so revved up, I think I
played air guitar then too and my hair looked strangely similar to
Angus’s hair!
THE METAL PIT:
If you can only pick one what is your favorite metal album of all time?
Judas Priest, Sad Wings of Destiny.
I love everything from the
album artwork to the flow and different types of songs on it. I never
get tired of this album. It has stood the test of time.
THE METAL PIT: Outside of Heavy Metal what is most important in your life?
Being a part of nature and creating things with my mind and working my body.
THE METAL PIT: What is your favorite metal concert you have seen?
Really any and all of Dio’s concerts. Dio is so consistent and
emotional and powerful, I dig that mix of things. Plus he is a genuine,
wonderful down to earth spirit.
THE METAL PIT: Which metal band from the past do you wish could or would regroup to do a tour?
I always wished I could see Zeppelin in their time. I was listening to
How the West Was Won and it was the show where they first played
Stairway to Heaven live. I could only imagine being in that crowd, a
little buzzed, with the stars overhead and that song being heard for
the first time. Man that would be incredible, it would just be great to
see them live too!
THE METAL PIT: What is the best club/arena that you have seen a metal concert at?
I have to say Balingen, Germany at the Bang Your Head festival. It was
the 10 year anniversary and I felt like I was there with 40,000
friends. The city embraces the festival too which was amazing in
itself. Plus the smell of leather, beer and sausages there was very,
very sweet……..
THE METAL PIT: Of current METAL bands pick 3 that would make for your ultimate METAL concert?
Heaven and Hell
Axel Rudi Pell
Death Angel
This show would give me a bit of everything! WOW!
THE
METAL PIT: What do you think of females in metal music, whether its
females in metal bands or just female metal fans?
I think all fans fucking rule! We are there for the music and wherever we come from doesn’t matter, we are here together.
Females
in music definitely have something to say, and they say it in a lot of
different ways, it’s great to mix it up and see what happens. And no
one, male or female should ever second guess not pursuing what they
feel because of a concept of things. Humans make concepts and we make
new ones all the time too. We are inventors of our own limits and we
can uninvent them too.
Also, metal chicks look hot in leather, or so I hear! LOL!
THE METAL
PIT: What does it mean to be a Metal Maiden of the Month?
Well it kicks ass to meet and connect with other Metal Heads and to
share what is in my heavy metal heart. It’s a great honor and I am in
great company. Thank you!
THE METAL PIT: Thanks
for being the Metal Maiden of the month.. Any closing thoughts to the
viewers of THE METAL PIT?
Love what you love and never let it fade……….
