THE
METAL PIT: Why do you listen to Heavy Metal?
I don’t only see Metal
as music – it’s a lifestyle. Metal is my life and
everything evolves around it. It’s the music I listen to, the
clothes I wear, the long hair I saved, the opinions I express, the
decisions I make, the band I have, the dreams I have, the goals that I
want to reach and the person I am.
THE METAL PIT: How or what got you into listening to Heavy
Metal? I started off as a 12 year
old to listen to Metallica which became my guide into the world of
Metal. I believe that since Thrash was the first thing I started
listening to, it remained closest to my heart from then and on. I find
so much inspiration, being an artist, in this type of music.
I’m influenced by it when writing riffs as well as developing
and experimenting with my vocals. Listening to Thrash, naturally, made
me move further into Death Metal but Thrash has always remained my
favorite. It’s filled with emotions, energy and lyrics
stating strong opinions which I find most inspiring. To mention some
more inspiring bands that came after Metallica I could say: Kreator,
Testament, Destruction, Slayer, Pantera, Annihilator, Megadeth,
Tankard, Exodus and the like. I find both vocal and instrumental
inspiration in acts such as mentioned above which constantly makes me
what to express myself in my band Decadence.

THE METAL PIT: Your top 5 Metal bands?
1. Metallica
2. Death
3. Vader
4. Kreator
5. Testament
THE METAL PIT: Favourite concert you have ever seen?
That must’ve been when I saw Metallica live the
first time. It was in Oslo/Norway and the feeling was indescribable.
Seeing the band that you’ve listened to practically each day
of your life live on stage, performing the songs you love and know by
heart, well – that was amazing.
THE METAL PIT: What is the best thing about going to a Metal Concert?
I feel that is the time
when music literally comes alive. I believe that the live experience of
a band always is much more special than being heard on an album.
It’s great when a band can connect with the fans and express
their music on stage.

THE METAL PIT: Outside of Metal what is most important to
you? There
is no life outside of Metal.

THE METAL PIT: What was the first metal concert you saw?
That was
actually In Flames live in Stockholm, Sweden.
THE METAL PIT: What are your thoughts on females in Heavy
Metal?
Well, I think it’s great. Female Metal fans seem to have been
more of the ordinary than females in Metal music, but that is
definitely on the way to change.

THE METAL PIT: What
is the Metal Scene like in Sweden? At the moment, at
least in Stockholm, it doesn't seem so strong unfortunately. Many clubs
have closed down due to lack of support which is shame. The only shows
that are supported are the bigger shows with famous bands, but not the
Underground scene. The Underground bands are coming in flows but the
clubs are disappearing and this is turning to be a big problem for the
local scene. There are so many great bands out there and many of them
never get the chance to show themselves which is really a shame.

THE METAL PIT:
Since your a singer in a metal band what do you feel gave you
the most inspiration to be a singer, the listening to music on
albums or the live concert experience?
Both things that you mentioned are true
inspirations but the most inspiration is definitely being on stage.
That is the greatest feeling ever.
THE
METAL PIT: Thank for you being the Metal Maiden of
the Month for April in the
METAL PIT..........do you have any closing thoughts to share with METAL
PIT viewers?
Thank you for your great support
and thanks to all the readers! My closing words will be: if
there’s a will, there’s a way. Horns up high from
Metallic Kitty of Decadence!
