Entombed
I was not familiar with Entombed before the show. I knew they were death metal and from Sweden and thats about it.
I don't listen to a lot of death metal but they were not to bad. From the opening thunder of Bass and drums pounding into my chest.....I knew it was officially a Heavy Metal Show. There were loud thats for damn sure. And thats a good thing. They pounded out 10 songs in a 45 minute set. I have no idea of song titles but they were kicking out in a very heavy style. That bass just continued to pound right through my chest for the whole set........I thought my heart was gonna stop......but thankfully it hung on. The singer was the only one with long hair in the band....gave him something to shake around while guitar solos were on. I was quite surprised that I enjoyed them pretty well and may have to check them out in the future.

Rob Halford
This was a special concert because of Maiden but the return of Halford to the metal scene was great too. I listened to a lot of Judas Priest in my days. I wasn't sure if he would do many Priest songs or not but he did. He played I believe 5 Priest songs: Stained Glass, Running Wild, Electric Eye, Riding on the Wind(not sure if thats right or not) and Tyrant. Not the real fav Priest songs by most opinion. It would of been nice to hear Hell Bent For Leather or a few of the other classics but these are classics too. The new Halford songs from his forthcoming cd (coming out a week after this show) were quite heavy and really rocking. I think I will be picking that cd up. He can still scream for vengeance with the best of them. They played about 50 minutes and put on a really good performance. He has himself a really good band with him.

Iron  Maiden
Now what everyone was there to see the mighty Maiden. I saw them last year (1999) at Massey Hall in Toronto on the Ed Hunter tour.....Adrian was not available for that show. But they were all here for this one. As the lights dimmed and the light show began and the band kicked into The Wicker Man the show was under way. Not the biggest stage setup they have ever had but not bad. Room for Bruce to run around and Yanick to act goofy like he always does. The rest of the band just kinda play there instruments and don't do much playing around which is fine.......Bruce and Yanick were enough to watch for that. After Wicker...they did 2 more songs from Brave....Ghost of the Navigator and the title Track. The crowd seemed to know the new songs well so that is good to know..from the bands thoughts I would think anyway. Then they got into 2 older classics Wrathchild and 2 minutes to Midnight. Then back to Brave for Blood Brothers....not one of my favourites off the new one but I knew they were gonna be playing it.
They did 2 songs from the Blaze albums. Sign of the Cross and The Clansman. They are not bad songs with Bruce singing them......BUT I would rather not hear them because I was not a fan of the Blaze years and well even if I like the song the way Bruce sings it I won't go back to listen to those cds to hear the songs. So that is my only real complaint about the show. But I also realize there is people who want to hear Bruce sing those songs....but I would of rather heard other songs instead.
Also from the new cd they played Mercenary and the future Classic Epic Dream of Mirrors. It was a crowd favourite from the reaction and a highlight of the show for me......I love that song. The classic Trooper was in there too and Evil that Men Do is where Eddie made his appearance. They then played Fear of the Dark and ended off with Iron Maiden and had a nice pyro and fire thing there with this big Eddie thing going on and a few girls in a made up big Iron Maiden with Bruce in it. I was glad I had binoculars to get a closer look. :-) It was pretty cool though.
Then they came back after that for encores.....of course they came back and did The Number of The Beast and Hallowed be Thy Name and ended off the show with Sanctuary. It was a killer show.
The band was awesome and Bruce was running from one side of the stage to the other leading the crowd in screaming chants and raising there arms and he had little pulleys on each side of the stage so he could take a little ride every once in a while......he was having a good time.
One downfall of the show was the people that WERE NOT there. There was about 5,000 people there. Bruce made mention of this in the show asking where are all the metal fans in Toronto gone. Because they had 6,000 tickets sold for the next night in Quebec. I know its only a 1000 more but still......and they have sold out NY. So why not Toronto..and thats a good question. I wish i knew where they were too. Its a disgrace to the city...........is the city full of losers who like that alternative crap out there.....or that shit they like to think is Metal.....I won't mention any names of the Kids who Rock!!!!!! hint hint.  But it is terrible and hopefully next time Maiden comes to town it is a full house and people have realized that Real Metal and real music does live in Maiden. So if you are from Toronto and are reading this then kick your friends asses and get them to listen to real music again.......and lets bring Heavy Metal back to where it should be.........EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!
