THE METAL PIT:  Why do you listen to Heavy Metal?     I think it's mainly because I like to feel something when I listen to music. With heavy metal...you can feel the power, energy and and force within it. It hits you right in the face.



THE METAL PIT:  How or what got you into listening to Heavy Metal?   .....it was a guy....haha. When I was about 14 years old, I met this guy, Rob, that was really into metal. I had quite a crush on him and pretty much hung on every word that dude said...yeah I was lame. Anyway, he casually mentioned bands like Lamb of God, Dying Fetus and Deicide. At the time, the heaviest stuff I listened to was Disturbed (....yeah...). Well, a few weeks after I met this guy, I woke up in the middle of the night to this metal band on Fuse or something. I just stared at the screen, completely captivated by the music. I knew right then that this was my future of musical taste. It turned out to be Lamb of God's “Black Label”. Ever since then...it's been metal...and it's gotten faster, heavier, and harder.

THE METAL PIT:  Favourite concert you have ever seen?  I don't think I could ever pick just one honestly. I guess seeing LOG the first time was pretty much amazing. Slayer too. Goatwhore shows are always so much fun too. Hmm...yeah I can't pick. :)







THE METAL PIT: What is the best thing about going to a Metal Concert?       Probably just seeing the music come to life. It's so intense and loud.....incredible. It's also pretty badass to be surrounded by a bunch if crazy metalheads that don't really give a fuck.






THE METAL PIT:  If someone criticizes you for listening to METAL music what would your response be??         It's gonna happen..just have to deal with it. I usually just don't pay them any attention. There's no use arguing with people like that. They think they're right, and nothing you say or do will change their opinion. They are the ones that will suffer from their close mindedness.




THE METAL PIT:  What was the first metal concert you saw?       Kiss...mhmm. I know it's not really considered metal by today's standards...but come on...it's KISS haha


THE METAL PIT:  What are your thoughts on females in Heavy Metal? I think it's great. Women can rock just as hard as men. Look at bands like Arch Enemy and FuckTheFacts....they're amazing. However..I do think that some bands, and I'm not gonna mention any names, use the fact that they have a cute chick as a singer as an excuse for shitty music.
               Female fans...that's great too. I've met some really cool girls that are into metal. I've also gotten a lot of shit from girls that..hmm..well...they fit the stereotype of a metal chick, and that's all I will say....but I'm sure you guys can figure it out. Apparently I don't look or act “metal enough” for them....yeah fuck that. Sorry.



THE METAL PIT: Outside of Heavy Metal what is most important to you in life?  My friends and family...I'd do anything for the people that I love.




THE METAL PIT:  What is your favorite Metal album of all time and why?   Hmm....I guess I'm gonna say New American Gospel by Lamb of God. Even if you aren't a fan of their new stuff...you gotta hear this.





THE METAL PIT:  What is the best club/bar you have ever witnessed a heavy metal show at?  My favorite place is Lucky's Pub here in Wilmington. Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte is a great place. Ziggy's in Winston-Salem is also pretty damn cool.




THE METAL PIT:  Why did you want to be a METAL MAIDEN of the MONTH?  Figured I'd throw that stereotype off a little ya know. :)



THE METAL PIT: Tell us about your connection with Hard Rock Radio Live?
            I believe it was December of last year when a friend of mine sent me a link to HRRL where they were holding a Metal Queen contest, and the winner would get that title and become Hard Rock Radio Live's poster girl. I figured...what the hell. Thanks to my amazing friends who voted for me, I beat out about 30 other girls to be given the title as HRRL's Metal Queen. Very cool. They are a great free internet radio station, and they just added a classic rock feed for those of you who like to rock it old school. Check it out at www.hardrockradiolive.com





THE METAL PIT: What is the metal scene like in Wilmington,NC?
              Honestly...it's kind of suffering. The whole “emo/scene kid” thing is pretty big here...it's pretty big everywhere tho. We've got some great metal bands though. Links to the good ones are on my myspace.









THE METAL PIT: What are some metal bands that are great to kick it with?
             Byzantine! (Sept. 4...go get “Oblivion Beckons”!) They are my boys. Love those guys. And Goatwhore (Catch them on SOTU this summer!)...they're crazy, but very nice and genuinely good people. <33333



THE METAL PIT: What metal bands do you think are overrated by today's fans?
        um...Trivium...metal boy band.  Dragonforce...I feel like I'm watching The Never Ending Story when I listen to them. I love that movie...but...I don't jam out to that soundtrack...:)
          Job For A Cowboy...yeah I said it...they are getting way to much credit for a style that a ton of other bands have done...and who have done it better. I mean, they aren't the worst band in the world...but I don't really think that they merit the success they are getting right now.



THE METAL PIT: Do all of your friends listen to metal?
             Nope. A lot of them do though. Quite a few of them like different kinds of metal, which is awesome because they expose me to bands that I've never even heard of before...and I usually end up loving it.




THE METAL PIT: What do you think of nu metal?

THE METAL PIT:  Are there any good metal radio stations where you live?
            Well we've got a fairly good rock station that has a “metal hour” once a week...but that's way lame. So, no...that's why I have Sirius Satellite Radio. It's definitely something that you don't think you really need...but once you have it...it spoils you....and you become addicted haha. The people at Hard Attack(channel 27) are absolutely amazing and have done so much for me. Love you guys. <3
