Welcome to the METAL PIT'S METAL MAIDEN OF THE MONTH section. This is where we will feature each month a Metal Maiden that is either a fan of METAL or in a METAL band. We will find out how they got into METAL and why they are METAL fans. For previous Metal Maiden's of the Month see the bottom of this page.

THE METAL PIT:  Why do you listen to Heavy Metal?
Metal is such a unique genre of music. There are so many different vareties...power, prog, death, etc. There's always one that suits my mood. Another reason is because of the time and talent that these bands put into their music and how appreciative their fans are of it. It's never boring. Concept albums are the best!!

THE METAL PIT:  How or what got you into listening to Heavy Metal?   I have always loved heavy music, but it wasn't until I started dating my husband that I realized I had a huge passion for it. He introduced me to the album Scenes from a Memory by Dream Theater and I was blown away. Ever since then, I couldn't turn back to regular radio. It had to be METAL!!

THE METAL PIT:  Your top 5 Metal bands?

Dream Theater
Mercenary
Zero Hour
Megadeth
Opeth

THE METAL PIT:  Best concert you have ever seen?  The best concert is ProgPower USA...and it gets better every year. My husband and I go every year. I'm from Atlanta, so I'm lucky I don't have to travel as far as everyone else to see a kick ass metal festival.

THE METAL PIT: What is the best thing about going to a Metal Concert?  Not all metal concerts are the same...ProgPower USA is by far the best. My favorite part of the festival (besides the performances, of course) is getting to meet the bands. A pretty big percentage of the people that go to ProgPower are other bands and they're all just wandering around, so its a great opportunity to meet and chill with them.

THE METAL PIT:  If someone says to you "Why do you listen to Heavy Metal?" What is your response? I honestly believe that Metal is in my blood. I was born that way, is what I would say! For as long as I can remember I would only listen to the heaviest stuff I could find on the radio. It was when I started dating my husband 7 1/2 years ago that I realized there was sooooo much more than what was on the radio and that there was so much more heavy stuff out there. Thank God for the internet too!

THE METAL PIT:  Outside of Metal what is most important to you?  100% my husband. He is God's gift to me and my best friend.

THE METAL PIT:  What was the first metal concert you saw? Scenes from a Memory Tour - Dream Theater.

THE METAL PIT: Who do you think was the first Heavy Metal band ever? Black Sabbath. Unfortunately I wasn't even born yet when Black Sabbath first released...so I can't really say that I'm a HUGE fan, but still gotta give them credit for being one of the firsts to come out with metal. If it wasn't for bands like them back in the 70s we wouldn't be where we are today with metal.

THE METAL PIT:  What are your thoughts on females in Heavy Metal?   Females in Metal are the BEST!! In all aspects of metal. I'm a huge fan of a female vocalist in metal bands too (except the opera sounding vocalists...they drive me nuts). A good vocalist like Cristina Scabbia totally kicks ass. Genuine females metal fans also kick ass!!!

THE METAL PIT: What is your favorite Metal album of all time and why? I know this is probably getting repetative, but Scenes from a Memory, by Dream Theater. It was one of my first metal albums and will always be my favorite. Who knew that bands could write a whole story and make one long song out of it that was 70 minutes long? Now that's metal!

THE METAL PIT:  Thank for you being the  Metal Maiden of the Month for December in  the METAL PIT..........do you have any closing thoughts to share with METAL PIT viewers?
