CADAVERIA

IN YOUR BLOOD

2007

REVIEW BY NICK

Before we even get into the musical content of this band, the first thing
you notice when you pick up the cd is the artwork which depicts a semi-nude woman with white wings, wearing heavy Goth makeup and plunging a syringe into her arm.Now I am sure you can have several different interpretations of
his image which is probably what the band wants from us,but this photo kind of gives you a hint of what is to come inside the cd jacket, something unique, possiblya little disturbing and most of all very thought provoking.

Most Metal bands out today can be pretty easily catagorized into the style they play and they are for the most part slaves to their own success. However, once in a while you get to experience a band that follows none of the traditional stereotypes and branches out on their own to attempt
something completley different.

Cadaveria is a band that I dare anyone to try to catagorize into any one
style of Metal because it is not possible. This band has elements of Thrash,Death,Black,Gothic and Symphonic Metal all rolled into one Bloody Horrorfest of Brutally powerful music, intelligent lyrics, and haunting vocals.Possibly a more accurate description of this band would be
"Horror Metal" with their imagery and at times taboo subject matter.

The band is the brainchild of it's namesake,a very intriguing, articulate
and muti talented woman whose name is "Cadaveria",who along with a band of  very accomplished musicians has produced a Heavy Metal classic in every sense of the word.

The band's third  cd is entitled "In your Blood"and it is a perfect
representation of what Cadaveria is all about. Each song has it's own life and  with every breath taken, you are transformed into the very song itself
and left captivated by the different mood shifts throughout each offering.

The vocals conjure up images of the classic "Angel vs. Devil" scenario as Cadaveria's Amazing voice brings you from an angelic whisper to gutteral growls straight from the pit of Hell itself.

While alot of lyricists draw on personal experiences or current events for  their writing,Cadaveria gets inspiration from poets, obscure filmakers like David Lynch and Dario Argento, horror movies and the general inhumanities of the human race itself.

It is hard to pick any favorites on this cd because they are all excellent
but I guess the ones that standout the most to me are......"Anagram","Queen of Forgotten","Atypical Suggestions by a Dead Artist" and "Before the Apes came",quite honestly I doubt anyone will be dissapointed with anything on this cd.

Cadaveria is a very talented band and they should be  proud of this
release for it's originality, intelligence and musicianship.I give this a very enthusiastic 10 out of 10 points. You can check out the band on their Myspace page or on their website at www.cadaveria.com.

Dont forget to check out some of their videos as well, they have to be
experienced to fully appreciate this band's artform.

      Great job Cadaveria,

Horns way up to you all................Nick.
