Review: This is the 2nd full length release from Immortal Dominion after a opening EP. This is my first taste of the band and from the opening riffs of the fitting lead track PUNISHMENT I new this was gonna be a riff fest of thrash/death metal. This is a brutal display of thrash style riffing with a few death like vocals thrown in for good measure. At times sounding like early Pantera/Slayer but doesn't come across sounding strictly 80's thrash. Loving song titles like EAT YOUR FLESH, BLASPHEMY and SHALLOWS IN THE VATICAN DARKNESS bring you thoughts of some Cradle of Filth influences in some of their songwriting. I very rarely give out 10's on mondern day releases but this impresses me so much with the quality of musicianship and vocals that I can't not give it a top rating. FEAR FREE and NOT GOOD are incredible metal headbanging pieces. And you get to the last track THE OTHER SIDE OF PAIN and you think you have to come to the token ballad but the quick change and screams change puts those thoughts to rest. After repeated listens to this "I couldn't feel my head anymore"!!
