Let me start by saying I have read a few other reviews about this cd and they have left me scratching my head wondering what the Hell these other reviewers were listening to, I mean how do you not love this Freakin band?
Hysterica is an all female Metal band from Sweden that will hopefully break down some of those long standing stereotypes about women in Metal such as one of my favorites, "Man those chicks are hot but they cant play like dudes". These days more than ever that kind of thinking really makes me laugh,it is time to wake the Hell up guys.....women in Metal do not have to feel inferior to their male counterparts anymore and Hysterica have come to Kick your Asses into submission if you do not believe in them.Get this news flash,these girls can actually play!
             The band reminds me somewhat of the female version of Manowar...loud,aggressive guitar driven music but with a cleaner,melodic sound that is heavy but also has catchy songs you can sing along to as well.
The band's long awaited debut cd is called "METALWAR" and it is an instant Metal classic.

          Are you kidding me,are those the greatest Metal names ever?
The cd opens up with the song "We are the Undertakers" which is sort of a love song between a mortician and her ummmm, I guess we could say date, haha. The song is heavy,catchy and has some great backing vocals.
Next is "Halloween" a tune about a very nice young lady prowling the graveyard looking for love and a song you find yourself singing along too.
"Bless the Beast" is a slightly slower and grinding tune than some of the others but still just as good. "Girls made of Heavy Metal" is an Ass kicking anthem celebrating strong women in Metal.It sounds to me like
the band is speaking not only of themselves here but to their legion of female fans as well.This tune is very empowering and kinda makes you want to break stuff,haha.One of the lyrics goes "We play so F****ng loud your ears are gonna bleed", is that the coolest or what? "Louder" is next up and pretty much says just that....Turn it up louder!!!!! "Metalwar" is the next tune and one of my favorites on the cd.This song gets your fists in the air and blood pumping."Bring your swords to the Metalwar"....great lyrics.
"Wreck of Society" follows with an intelligent and socially conscious message about how we are killing the planet.  "The Bitch is Back" is a straight ahead Metal song which showcases Anni's powerful vocals.
"Devil in me" is next with crunching guitars and awesome drums.
The next tune is "Heavy Metal Man" and being one of them myself,kind of speaks to the "real" man in all of us or at least what a "real man" should by Hysterica's standards.All I want to know is where do I sign up?
The last tune on the cd is just Killer and is called "Pain in the Ass" and it grabs you by the throat from the very beginning and  never lets up.Rockzilla and Bitchie are guitar demons on this tune.This is a perfect song to close the cd with, fast,heavy and a punch in the face to leave you something to think about until Hysterica's next release. "METALWAR" is not Death,Black,Thrash or Symphonic Metal but simply straight forward good solid Heavy Metal in the same vein as old Judas Priest....heavy,melodic,simple and above all else alot of fun to listen to.The band seems like they are having a
great time with all of this and they want their fans to do the same.

I give Hysterica's "Metalwar" a very solid 10 out of 10.
