FALLEN ANGELS OF SUI CAEDERE

Unlike so many new bands who seem to be trying to find their identity and are in an extreme rush to put something out on the shelves , sometimes you end up having filler songs, that just dont hold their own with the rest of the cd. Well, you have no filler with this cd, but what you do have is a cd that is top to bottom, pure Heavy Metal excellence.
The band uses two vocalists,Chris Emig and Tom Herttna and while this is not a unique idea in concept, it is for Cellbound in the fact that neither vocalist tries to overshadow the other, they both work together like a fine oiled Metal machine. Chris has the operatic voice and Tom throws down the hardcore growls and together their chemistry along with some
excellent musicianship from David Borowske and Shaun Vanek (guitars), Greg Baise (Bass), Todd Alley (drums) will definitely seperate Cellbound from the rest of the pack.
The cd starts out with the song "Spit me out" which has some killer bass and drum beats and you get your first chance to hear
the vocal tandem of Chris and Tom. The onslaught continues with "Your Savior" and the very thrashy "Forgotten" both of which deliver a full Metal assault to your ears and are two of my favorite tunes. The title track "Fallen Angels of Sui Caedere" has an acoustic opening and this is where vocalist Chris Emig really shows her chops. Her voice is beautiful, haunting and powerful all at the same time. The song then takes a heavy turn and in comes Tom Herttna's vocal growling excellence. Next up on the cd is "Bleeding through me" and "Voices" which pretty much continue to punch you right in the face and never let up. "Nothing to Die for" opens with some killer drums joined by Chris and Tom's vocal assault into another great tune.
"Dark Groove" opens with an intro from "Resident Evil" (That creepy little girl that keeps telling everyone they are all gonna die) and it works
perfectly with the overall mood of this tune and the lyrical content as well.
The last two songs are "Slave" and "Admit it" which close out this cd with a bang, definatley no filler here. This band has elements of Thrash, Hardcore and even some Symphonic Metal all rolled into one nasty little package.
If Cellbound can avoid all the pitfalls that seem to stop alot of promising young bands dead in their tracks they will indeed be a powerful
force to reckon with for years to come. They have the talent to go as far as they want to go in the Metal scene. This is an excellent debut from Cellbound and I am looking forward to more excellence from them in the future.
I give Cellbound's "Fallen Angels of Sui Caedere" a very enthusiastic 10 out of 10.
Horns up Brothers and Sisters,
Nick.
