Review: Black metal at its finest. This was the first time I heard of Cradle. To describe them I would say they are kind of a mix between Venom and King Diamond. Lyrics are not for the religious minded. The lyrics were definitely not writtien overnight. The overall feel of the album is spooky. With some haunting choir like vocals mixed into the background at times makes the feel so theatric. Now the vocals of Dani range from low death growls up to high pitched squealing and even some times sounding like a little child. I find this all so haunting and thats a good thing. Now don't count on being able to understand the vocals if your not a fan of this music. Heck its hard following along with the lyrics but the lyrics are a joy to read and understand the songs a little better. The music is dark of course and the lyrics darker. I think you have to have a acquired taste for this sort of music to enjoy it but I find myself having a hard time not listening to it. This is diffferent from what I usually listen to but it is one of my favourtie's of 2000.
